I've finally found the time to setup correctly the FAT32 C: partition,
installed ps2 (i've no more windows, i've run the installer under wine
and all went well! ;) and start fiddling with.
I've also update the bios to the last available on ibm site.
I've read many docs about 600E but also about 600 and 600X (i think
there's no so big differencies) and i've now many questions:
a) it is not clear if ACPI is supported or not, can someone clarify
me?!
b) it's good to enable RediSafe?! If i've understood well, redisafe
simply put on hybernation if i ask a suspend.
c) enabling serial, irda, parallel, modem... consume power?! I'll ask
this because i think that i can disable all this stuff with ps2, and
enable when needed with a pre-install modutils row that call tpctl.
Another statement not clear reading docs is if tpctl can enable a
peripheral if ps2 have disbled it.
Seems that tpctl cannot only make permanent these choices, but this is
exactly what i need. ;)
d) whi to suspend/hybernate i've to press (respectively) Fn-F4 and
Fn-F12 two time?! The first seems that the process start, then after
some seconds the computer beeps and go back as usual. The second time
the computer suspend/hybernate correctly.
Thanks.
