Tell me you're on the latest fc2 kernel and have turned on fireware or
at least defined the device you'll need in /etc/modprobe.conf

Someone else already said use the apple software/fireware upgrade on
window to upgrade to vfat.  That's the path of least resistance.
Although, I have gotten it working on HFS+, vfat is no effort.

It works really well for me.

Also, gtkpod was mentioned.  That's all I've ever used and I love it.
