I burned the original restore CD's from my X40 when I first got it. I was
concerned about having problems with using an external USB CD burner I put
together, but the CD's tested as good after burning them. I installed
Ubuntu Linux taking the entire HD. However later when I tried using the CD=
s
to restore onto a different hard drive it crashes during the process. I
don't intend to use my X40 with windows, so it is not a big deal. But I
would have liked to have had it on a separate hard drive or for eventual
resale of my laptop. I have considered contacting IBM for restore disks bu=
t
have not done so yet.
