Another trick we used to do:

Alcohol binds to water molecules and evaporates completely.  It's also got
a lower surface tension than pure water.  You might try
rinsing things in 91% isopropyl after the distilled water.  It will remove tiny
remaining water beads that might otherwise cause shorts.
