[ltp] speckles on t40 screen. dead pixels or drivers?

Sounds like something is wrong here.  Unfortunately, you would need a 
video test program to determine if this is a driver problem or a system 
problem.  Is this system still under warrenty (you can check at IBM.com)?

This is normal and happens on both a 600E (I recently sold it) and an 
A22p.  I think this is when the screen is cleared and powered down and 
then repowered.

Not the 'sparkling' screen, but I have seen the clearing screen.  I'm 
willing to bet that the screen looks like it is dark green.
