Humm... I maintain the tpb package in Fedora Extras.=20
I haven't seen any reports of this happening (nothing in bugzilla), and
it works just fine on my thinkpad (t42p). ;(=20

The version in fc5 is the same as the one in fc6 (there hasn't been a
new release of tpb in a long time). There might be diffrent libraries,
but I doubt they could cause this.=20

I would much more suspect a kernel issue. What fc5 kernel were you
running when it was all working? What fc6 kernel are you running now?
(The latest updated one?)

Is there anything in your /var/log/Xorg.0.log file?=20
/var/log/messages? Can you ping the machine or is it totally locked up?

If you do have a chance, do file a bugzilla report and we can try and
track down the problem...=20
