Hi,
Is it possible to run an external LCD from t42p using max resolutions on both
(1600x1200 + 1920x1200)?
My current setup is Slackware with xorg-6.8.2, open source radeon driver.
Video card is "ATI Technologies Inc M10 NT [FireGL Mobility T2] (rev 80)"
I have a working setup using a Dell 2001FP LCD with MergeFB option and
MetaMode "1600x1200-1600x1200". And this is the most I can get using the
wider monitor (Dell 2407WFP that is capable of 1920x1200). I am getting a
horizontally stretched picture on the external monitor - not a pretty view...
The monitor is connected through the VGA port (15-pin D-Sub). The Xorg log has
those lines during the startup:
(II) RADEON(0): Generating MergedFB mode list
(WW) RADEON(0): Mode "1920x1200" is not a supported mode for CRT2
(WW) RADEON(0): Skipping metamode "1600x1200-1920x1200".
Does anybody have a similar setup working? Can you share your xor.conf file
then?
Will it help to upgrade to the latest version of xorg? The official Slackware
doesn't support it, so it will need to be compiled from the sources, right?
Are there easier alternatives?
Will the proprietary API driver be better in supporting this configuration?
Thank you,
Yury
