[ltp] tf-tool no longer works due to usb_bulk_read error

Hi all,
since one of my latest upgrades (debian sid) thinkfinger stopped working.
the situation is the same as described in this message

0x40 (read 0x8 bytes).

After the above message tf-tool freezes (although it can still be
interrupted with Ctrl-C) and /tmp/test.bir is empty.
