I think there's a BIOS option for this - should the lid-close trigger a 
suspend or not?  I tend to prefer suspend to require an explicit request 
  - sometimes it's useful to close the lid while leaving the machine on 
(eg batch processing; external monitor; or just carrying it a short 
distance)
