That's perfectly normal. But do keep in mind that X models seem to be
able to change the target speed of a fan level depending on whatever
is happening (Lenovo's ATM driver loaded in Vista; battery status; who
knows what else). I haven't seen a T model doing that yet, but there
is no reason to think they couldn't be doing it.

It probably cooled down stuff enough that auto mode decided a stopped
fan was OK. My T43 always boot with the fan off when it has cooled
down, but the fan starts up a few minutes later.

Only Lenovo will be able to safely help you there, I will try to see
if either I or SuSE can strike some sort of deal with them, but they
*REALLY* are not forthcoming with this stuff.
