Just in case this helps... I have a similar problem on my work laptop
running Windoze... After a lot of poking and proding it seems that the
DVD drive doesn't always seat solidly. So if I move the laptop around
or squeeze by the DVD player, when it wakes next time it thinks I've
removed or replugged the DVD player and goes right back to sleep
again. If I press Fn after it's asleep again, it wakes and stays awake
True mine is running Windoze, but perhaps yours might be a hardware
issue too... Just a thought...

They that can give up essential liberty
to obtain a little temporary safety
deserve neither liberty nor safety.
