Posting some more information about your setup (config, log files,

with KMS didn't solved my problem. But the problem with VTs disappeared when
I removed the 'set gfxpayload=keep' from my grub.cfg. But now I have another
problem with KMS enabled 32 kernel. My problem is exactly the same as
described here:
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=87635
The only difference is that my screen starts flickering only after resume
from suspend-to-ram, as mentioned in comment #11 by damjan, who has the same
X60s. This problem comes out only in the .32 kernel, but never in .30.
The guys in the previous forum mentioned this bug:
http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14781
This bugreport contains a couple of kernel patches, but aftefr applying the
one for .32 (comment #15) my new .32 kernel still have the flickering
problem. Another sollution is setting 'options i915 powersave=0' in
/etc/modprobe.d/i915, but in my opinion disabling powersave mode is not a
real bug fix. By the way, in Ubuntu kernels since 2.6.32-11.15 disbaled
powersave mode is the default.
Do you have the same problem with the new .32 kernel?
