[ltp] T400 mute key works differently since 2.6.38

Hi all,

I'm having a new problem with the mute key since 2.6.38.

Whenever I press mute, it works correctly by muting the alsa mixer. But when
I press mute again (to unmute) the volume does not return to what it was
prior to muting, instead it is set to 0.
This is a bit annoying since I have to increase the volume again.

At the moment I'm using 2.6.39 but I believe this behaviour changed in
2.6.38 which I used briefly. To be honest, I'm not sure if 2.6.37 has the
problem but I'm pretty sure 2.6.36 does not have it.

Does anyone have the same problem and/or knows a solution?
