Not quite: as explained in https://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Power_Connector,
the laptop can tell which power adaptor is plugged (according to some
convention of how the central pin is connected to ground) and the
firmware will use that info to make sure you don't pull more watts than
the brick can provide (tho obviously, this only works if the brick
abides by the convention).
