Yup. Of course, the tech spec elsewhere uses vague language like

Converts the special micro Ethernet connector on supported ThinkPad
computers to the standard RJ45 connector. Supports PXE boot, Mac
Pass Through, and Wake-On-LAN (depends on system capability).

If it's only for gen6, why say "on supported ThinkPad computers"?

And are there really systems that work with this adapter yet are so
poorly implemented that they fail to support one of wake-on-lan, PXE
boot, or "mac pass through"?

The mind boggles: how inept does one have to be not to include that info
in the tech specs?

Well, higher speed options wouldn't be disappointing 🙂

I expect that a USB<->Ethernet adapter wouldn't work for PXE boot either
(or the "vPro" remote management for that matter) and I'd also expect to
encounter trouble when trying to do wake-on-lan with it (tho maybe it
could be made to work depending on whether all the stars are aligned
and you slaughtered enough pigs).

Thanks,
