Thanks for all the initila help from the mailing list. RedHat 8.0 is a success
on my 600E!

I finally compiled mwavem 1.0.4 yesterday and it appeared to work fine. I
never hooked it to a phone line and tried to dial out, but did get the "OK"
when I issued an ATZ command from within minicom.

Now I just need a new battery or batteries, an ethernet card, and 2
sticks of 128meg SODIMM memory. Any suggestions or preferences as
to where to get these items would be greatly appreciated. Also,
approved brands and models, stuff to stay away from, etc.

Also, the connector on my Thinkpad where my powerbrick plugs into it
fits rather loosely. Is it (forgive me) permissible to just crimp this a bit with
some pliers, or do I need to purchase a new one of these as well?

Also saw a very neat mini-mouse at Besy Buy this weekend that had a
transmitter that fit into the USB slot and communicated with the mouse.
$49.00 I think, but very nice provided that it woud work with Linux.
