When I dumped a soft drink on my Thinkpad 600, I removed the battery, harddrive and cd-rom, put a plastic bag over the display, opened the case up, rinsed the keyboard and motherboard thoroughly with distilled water, and set the whole mess before a dehumidifier for two days. Worked like a charm.
