The driver may not support power management, but the XOrg driver for the
r50p works fine, with the small exception that it's not accelerated.
Therefore the graphics are as slow as molassas (345fps for glxgears).

The fglrx drivers from ATI are frankly crap... I've reported problems to
them multiple times... And got nowhere. With the fglrx drivers I can't
even goto text mode... It either crashes completely (Full machine lockup
in the latest drivers) or when you switch back the colours are messed up
& never recover. I run XOrg now... At least it's stable. As a speed
comparison, flightgear is usable under fglrx. But I didn't wait round
for it to even start on XOrg...

Having said all that if I could find a laptop with NVidia drivers, that
I liked the keyboard * it had a trackpoint I'd swap in a flash. I'm sick
& tired of ATI...

Oh. The 50p model I have has the centrino. The ipw2100 support is good.
ipw2200 is getting there. The new one has just been started.
