I am using tp-fancontrol
(http://thinkwiki.org/wiki/ACPI_fan_control_script) now with two
changes:

70   85    #  EC 0x78    CPU     CPU    ?      CPU

for CPU temperatures and more important:

LEVELS=(    0      2      7      64)  # Fan speed levels

for fan speed. 64 means 0x40, i think. This is disengaged mode as i
understand, and with this my fan runs ~5500 rpm.

Without this, the T42p stops running with 93 degrees and 4200rpm under
heavy load.

Are there any problems regarding these settings?
