During the installation of Suse10.2 on an X60, I beat the windows
partition into a corner using acronis disk director (the suse
partitioner would not allow me to shrink the windows partition as small
as I wanted). I have been left with a partition called "vendor
diagnostics." I believe from the thinkpad manual, that this partition
is the windows install media---i guess it is too expensive to give me a
dvd, and preferable for me to just use a bunch of hard drive space.

I need to keep XP running, just for warrenty/hardware configuration
issues. Can i wipe out the Vendor Diagnostic partition ( i would then
reformat into a linux partition)??

ciao,
jfl
